CRS heat shrink wraparound sleeves are manufactured from thermally stabilized cross-linked polyolefin, with a hotmelt adhesive liner on the inner side of the sleeves. Upon heating, the sleeve shrinks and the adhesive melts, creating a water tight bond between the sleeve and cable sheath or cable Joint assembly components. CRS wraparound sleeve meat & even exceed the various national & international quality standards applicable. A corrosion proof stainless steel channel is used to close the sleeve during installation.

CRS heat shrinkable wraparound sleeves are designed to repair damaged cable sheath. It is also suitable for use for rejecting of cable Joints and as additional corrosion protection on undamaged cables.

Quick & easy to apply, it provides maximum protection againstcorrection& waterproof.

Heat shrinkable adhesive lined wrap around sleeve with stainless steel self locking channel, primarily used for outer sheath repair for power cables of any voltage class & re-jacketing of straight through cable Joints.

CRS wraparounds are a fast and permanent cable repair and sealing system. The repair sleeve is quickly fitted in place by means of its rail and channel closure. A moisture-proof, insulating and tight-fitting repair is then obtained in one step by heating, which makes the sleeve diameter shrink and the adhesive coating melt and flow into interstices.

Because of its heat-shrink phenomena, each size of heat shrinkable wraparound sleeve size will fit several different cable diameters. The adhesive provides excellent bonding and sealing characteristics to all materials commonly used in the various cable insulation and sheath constructions, such as plastic, rubber, lead, paper, aluminum & copper.

This sleeve after installation provides corrosion protection to steel armouring and water-tight seal around the sheath & cable Joint assembly.

A stainless steel channel closure system slide over rails on the sleeve, keeps the wraparound in place during installation but can easily be removed when the adhesive has set (if desired)

Heat Shrinkable Cable Repair Sleeve - "CRS" 

  1. Check & measure the damaged portion. Select the correct size of CRS sleeve by referring the ordering information chart. & application range column. Choose sleeve length, so that the cable including no damaged area is also covered under the sleeve by at least 100 mm on both sides.

  2. For good sealing roughen cable Jacket & damaged portion with abrasive cloth strip. Remove any sharp points from the portion of cable to be covered with CRS. Degrease & degrease the cable Jacket with appropriate solvent.

  4. Centre the CRS Heat Shrinkable Wraparound Sleeve over damaged area & mark cable as shown.

  5. Remove the plastic protective wrapper from inside of wraparound sleeve before installing.

  6. Wrap Sleeve around the cable -Install the steel closure channel over railing/raised profile of the sleeve and center the sleeve within the previously made marks.

  7. USE yellow flame tip of a suitable propane torch. Start heating the metal channel area for about half a minute. Then start shrinking sleeve at the center working the flame around all sides to apply unform heat. Keep flame moving to avoid scorching. After center part has shrunk work torch to one end of sleeve then to the opposite end.

  8. To determine if the sleeve has fully recovered, especially on the back and underside of the sleeve, check if all TCP spots have disappeared and adhesive has flowed from ends.
